HeardCheck ("we", "us", "our") is a restaurant operations application developed by Kevin Stewart (NorseHorse). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the HeardCheck iOS app and related services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. You may also create a PIN or password for authentication.
Restaurant Data: Menu items, prep lists, inventory records, schedules, orders, and other operational data you enter into the app.
Device Information: We collect your device's push notification token to deliver real-time alerts for orders, schedule changes, and messages.
Usage Data: Basic app usage analytics to improve performance and fix bugs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the HeardCheck app and services
- Send push notifications for orders, KDS tickets, schedule updates, and messages
- Process subscription payments through Apple's In-App Purchase system
- Improve the app's functionality, performance, and user experience
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- Within your restaurant: Other staff members in your restaurant can see shared operational data (schedules, orders, prep lists, etc.).
- Payment processing: Subscription payments are processed securely by Apple. We do not store credit card information.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
4. Data Tracking
HeardCheck does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or analytics services that track users across apps. We do not link your data with data brokers.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between the app and our servers. Authentication tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your data.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal information and restaurant data within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored in HeardCheck
- Correct inaccurate information through the app's settings
- Delete your account and all associated data (Settings > Delete Account, or visit heardcheck.com/delete-account)
- Export your data by contacting support
8. Children's Privacy
HeardCheck is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy within the app or on our website. Your continued use of HeardCheck after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
